Growth In Disposable Income Among Banner Residents
The CSO has estimated that people in Clare were typically 500 euro better off last year than in 2016.
However, disposable income levels in this county remain among the lowest in Ireland, and 2,000 euro less than the national average.
The CSO pegs the average income of a person in Clare last year at 24,100 euro.
Of this, just under 18,600 euro is classified as disposable income.
Only seven counties had a smaller amount.
Perhaps worryingly, the figures also seem to be further evidence of a two-tired economic recovery, with a growing gap in earnings between Clare and other parts of the country.
The national average in disposable income is close to 21,000 euro, with the figure in Clare representing 88.8 per cent of this.
However, as recently as 2010, the average disposable income in Clare was much closer to the national figure, at nearly 97%.
